Obamacare and Latinos
Latinos continue to have some of the highest percentages in health disparities, including 3 in 10 being uninsured, 1 in 6 having a pre-existing condition, and 25.6% living in poverty. But because of the Affordable Care Act, millions of Americans will have the opportunity to get affordable health care coverage—and Latino young adults are some of those who stand to benefit most.
The Affordable Care Act is estimated to cover as many as 9 million currently uninsured Latinos through different avenues to insurance. Here are some of the other ways Latinos stand to benefit from the health care law:
